Is this actually chocolatey, or does it taste like a typical protein bar?

It's genuinely chocolatey. We use both cocoa mass and cocoa powder - cocoa mass gives the bar its fudgy, rich depth, while cocoa powder adds that characteristic dark chocolate intensity. It's sweetened naturally with dates and monk fruit, so there's no fake sweetness cutting through it. Think of it as a grown-up chocolate bar that also happens to be doing a lot for your body.

The bar has both Cocoa Mass and Cocoa Powder. What's the difference, and why use both?

Cocoa Mass is pure ground cacao - it gives the bar its deep, fudgy richness and real chocolate texture. Cocoa Powder adds the intense dark chocolate flavour without the extra fat. Using both means you get a bar that tastes genuinely chocolatey.

Is this bar actually sweet enough without added sugar?

Yes - and that's one of the things our customers are most pleasantly surprised by. The natural sweetness from dates combined with monk fruit extract gives a satisfying, rounded sweetness without the sugar spike.

Is this a good bar to reach for during my period when chocolate cravings hit?

Absolutely. Real cocoa is naturally mood-lifting, and the 12g protein + 10g fibre keeps you full and steady rather than triggering a sugar spiral. What makes this bar different from other nutrition bars?

Is this bar vegetarian?

All flavours are vegetarian, except the Collagen bar which has a marine-sourced high-grade collagen.

When should I eat the bar?

4DU bars are perfect for a 4pm evening snack or a post-workout protein-heavy snack. Carry the minis when you travel. You can also eat a bar if you miss breakfast, although we never recommend this.

How many calories in each bar?

Most of the calories in our bars come from the high almond content – a source of good fats & dense nutrition. Depending on the flavour, the calories range from 217 to 230 per bar.

Can Men eat these?

Technically, yes, and they may find it a more rounded nutrition profile than the other brands they eat right now. But 4DU’s science-backed nutrition profile has been designed keeping women’s bodies, hormonal cycles and unique metabolic needs in mind.
